Posted: 5 AprilFor starters, your protagonist Meltys is an absolute cutie who comes with an array of facial expressions, not just outfits, weapons and accessories. Did I mention she was a cutie? There's other cuties too. Pretty much most of the female NPCs.
And everyone has a LOT of personality. At least, the characters you want to get invested in.Meltys Quest has a lot of plot (in both senses) and the game doesn't get more arduous as it goes along. For example, grinding! 'Yeah, not so bad! I needed x item anyway!' You can get a hint!Now if you're sneakily trying to play around family, you'll probably turn the sound right down. But wait, the music!
Some if not all of the music is what you'd expect from any good RPG. Good enough I've taken a moment mid-boss fight (don't worry, 99% of the games fighting mechanics are turn-based) just to give it a good ol' listen like the audiophile I am.Now since I've mentioned the battle system, I love it! Not only does dressing up Meltys in all of her 20+ costumes spice things up, once you've maxed out the SP, you get skills! Meaning you're not just stuck pressing 'Attack' 20 times to defeat a monster. Best part, I used all of them (at least, the ones I've unlocked thus far on my first playthrough).
No useless skills here. If you want to know the point I was pretty much sold on the attack system, it was when I unlocked the Atk+ skill.
It felt like I was playing a real tactical RPG, which it is, pretty much.And the replayability is. Well let's say 6 times! There's an achievement for 6 different endings and I may have spent 10 hours playing to get one ending, you betcha I'll play another 50 to get all 6 (I doubt it would take THAT long honestly, but you get my point).Now you're probably thinking, 'hey this is a H game, why haven't you written about that?'
I'll leave the H (or eroge) side of the reviews for someone else as I'm not as well 'versed' in those matters and it's also not the sole reason I fell in love with the game. I'm sure there's plenty of reviews which go into that. Epoch 2 melee robot.
